Our Story: Built from Necessity, Sustained by Grit
We didn’t start our business out of a dream or lifelong passion—it began out of necessity.
Twenty years ago, life took an unexpected turn that required urgent and measurable results. In a moment of desperation, we made the emotional decision to purchase a struggling business. It was a mistake that nearly cost us everything. At the same time, we experienced a sudden loss of employment, leaving us vulnerable and deeply in debt. We cashed out our retirement accounts, tapped into our home equity, borrowed from Peter to pay Paul—even turning to friends and family for help. Still, it wasn’t enough.
Over 300 job applications were submitted, a headhunter was hired, but doors remained closed. Eventually, we shut down the business and began looking for work. Then came a series of medical emergencies, and we lost our health insurance. We were emotionally and financially drained, just trying to survive.
That’s when a former colleague reached out with an opportunity to clean a home. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was immediate income—and we accepted without hesitation. There was no time for pride. I understood the value of the cleaning industry and knew it could help us save our home. A friend reminded me just how close we were to losing it.
From that single job, a residential cleaning business was born. Word spread quickly. Soon we were servicing whole cul-de-sacs in neighborhoods across eight cities. The growth was fast and overwhelming. We hired quickly, met the demand, and through it all—we kept our home, paid down our debt, and cared for our child who required an organ transplant. For that, we were deeply grateful.
Eventually, we made the decision to close the residential division and focus fully on commercial services. That’s when the next phase began. We pursued professional training in floor care, carpet cleaning, enhanced cleaning for medical facilities, and water remediation services.
Then the pandemic hit.
Suddenly, cleaning became critical. The industry was flooded with new providers, many offering superficial “quick cleanups.” We saw disinfectants being sprayed and wiped immediately—rendering them ineffective. We understood the urgency, but also the risk. We responded by investing in training, equipping our technicians with proper tools and knowledge to clean thoroughly, safely, and professionally.
Now, as we enter our 20th year in this industry, we continue to evolve. Automation is reshaping the landscape, and while new faces enter the field, the need for quality janitorial services remains constant. The pandemic proved what we’ve always known: cleaning is essential.
